Man saves puppies but quickly realizes his big mistake

If they unexpectedly discovered five puppies in their own backyard, everyone would undoubtedly respond.

Craig Mcgettrick’s experience is exactly the same.He and a friend were in England removing trash from a garden when they discovered an old mattress.

The mattress had to be lifted in order to be removed, but they had no idea what was beneath it. He was shocked to find five little puppies under the mattress.

After discovering the puppies, Craig got in touch with a nearby animal shelter and shared some pictures on Facebook in an effort to help the animals find a new home.

But only a few hours later, he would discover an unexpected fact regarding the tiny puppies, which altered everything…

It was a typical day in 2017; nothing special. Craig was assisting him in neighborhood cleanup. They were cleaning when they discovered something he would have never guessed! Craig discovered five of what he believed to be tiny puppies or possibly kittens under a mattress.

”Those were probably the only two options I knew of,” Mcgettrick told The Dodo and added, ”We thought someone had dumped them knowing we were going to remove rubbish.”

Craig made the decision to bring the five small animals along. He got in touch with the neighborhood animal shelter and asked them to look after the infants. Craig, however, shared images of the adorable little “pups” on Facebook in an effort to find them a new home before giving them to the animal shelter.

After being widely disseminated, the images eventually found their way to Martin Hemmington, the creator of the National Fox Welfare Society. He picked up the phone and called Craig as soon as he saw the images. He didn’t want to adopt the puppies, though.

“We were contacted by a lovely lady called Beccie through our Facebook Page: Beccie had sent a few photos asking if the babies in the photos were indeed fox cubs,” Hemmington wrote in a Facebook post. “We confirmed they certainly were. Beccie advised us that they had been taken to a rescue center in Liverpool mistakenly as puppies, not fox cubs.”

Five little fox cubs were what Craig initially believed to be puppies.

”Fox cubs don’t initially look like foxes when they are cubs, so it’s common for people to mistake them for dog puppies,” Paul McDonald, a local rescuer known as The Fox Man, mentioned.

Paul was contacted by Martin Hemmington, who made sure the little fox cubs were at least a little hungry so they would start beeping for their mother. Paul then carefully returned them to the spot where Craig had discovered the fox cubs after taking them there.

They soon noticed a fox moving toward the cubs. Finally, their mother had her cherished infants back.

“Vixens leave their cubs all the time whilst they are in the den, and as they get older they’ll begin to explore their surroundings more and more, and become less dependent on mum as they get older,” Paul McDonald,

The mother fox finally received her much-loved babies back thanks to Craig, Beccie, Martin, and everyone who shared the photos.
